About Bellwether Arts

Bellwether Arts is a whimsical botanical studio and homeschool enrichment community in the Washington DC area. Founded by Meghan Mulkerin and joined by Heather Cornelius, we offer hands-on fiber arts classes that connect handwork, history, curiosity, and community.

Our Philosophy

We believe that working with natural fibers—processing raw fleece, carding, spinning, natural dyeing, weaving, and hand quilting—inspires patience, fine motor mastery, and a deep appreciation for traditional craftsmanship. Every class weaves in history, science, and storytelling.

Where We Teach

Our studio classes are held in the Potomac Fiber Arts Guild classroom at Artists & Makers Studios in North Bethesda, Maryland. Certain specialized dye workshops take place in private home studio settings.
